DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL APPOINTS MICHAEL McCORRISTON TO THE OPEN MAYORAL POSITION

McCorriston to Fill Position Left by Former Mayor Melissa Hernandez

At its meeting held on Tuesday, June 4, the Dublin City Council voted to appoint Councilmember Michael McCorriston as Mayor, following the resignation of former Mayor Melissa Hernandez, who was recently appointed to serve on the BART Board of Directors. The affirming vote was 4-0.   Upon the vote, Mr. McCorriston was sworn into office and began serving immediately.  Mr. McCorriston will complete the rest of the mayoral term, which expires December 2024.
The City Council then directed City staff to post an application for the City Council vacancy.  The position is an at-large position with the term ending December 2024.  Applicants must be a resident and registered voter in Dublin. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, June 12, at 5:00 p.m.  The City Council will consider all applications at its regular meeting to be held on Tuesday, June 18, at 7:00 p.m.
