Las Positas College Announces Digital Auditions for Summer 2021 Production of 'A Cabaret of Hope and Joy'
 
 
 
 
 
(Livermore, CA) - Come join Las Positas College Theater Arts as we welcome back our community to the theatre in the live, outdoor musical production of 'A Cabaret of Hope and Joy,' directed by Bay Area beloved director and performer Vinh Nguyen (www.mrvinhnguyen.com). The cabaret event will be packed with songs of hope and joy, featuring celebrated Bay Area performers. The show will be presented live (County and District guidelines permitting) at Las Positas College Barbara Mertes Center for the Arts Outdoor Amphitheater and abide by strict COVID guidelines suggested by Alameda County and the State of California. 
 
Productions and auditions are open to the entire community - we warmly welcome anyone over the age of 15 to audition. Details to submit an audition are below.
 
Video Submission Details: 
  • Video submission deadline is May 2, 2021 by 12:00 p.m. 
  • Submit a video (around 1-minute) of you performing a Musical Theatre song that you love and/or would like to perform for this cabaret.
  • You may use pre-recorded music as your backing track. 
  • Please attach your headshot and resume if you have them in the email.
  • Please send an unlisted YouTube link of your video to: tlish@laspositascollege.edu
Online (Remote) Rehearsal Dates: June 15 - July 15, 2021 | 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.)
 
Tech Week: July 19-21 (7 p.m. - 10 p.m.)
 
Performance Dates: July 22 - 25, 2021
 
Where (Performance Location):  Mertes Center for the Arts Outdoor Amphitheater

Please note: The majority of the rehearsal process will be conducted via Zoom by the director. However, you will be required to attend two weekend rehearsals (June 26 & July 10), tech rehearsals, and performances in-person at our Livermore campus. Cast members will be required to sign up for THEA 57A/B/C or D (Rehearsal - 3 units) Scholarships available for demonstrated need.
