Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) is seeking residents who are interested in helping shape local water and wastewater policy to serve a four-year term on DSRSD’s five-member Board of Directors. Candidates who are interested in running for the DSRSD Board can file nomination papers beginning Monday, July 13 for two available seats: Division 2, representing southwest San Ramon, and Division 4, representing central Dublin. The filing period will be open until Friday, August 7, 2026; if the current officeholder in a division does not file papers, the deadline to file will be extended to August 12.
Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and registered voters residing within the division’s boundaries. Additionally, candidates are required to file a declaration of candidacy with the county where their division is located: Division 2 declarations should be filed with Contra Costa County, and Division 4 declarations filed with Alameda County. DSRSD authorizes the counties to conduct the District’s elections, which take place in November of even-numbered years and are nonpartisan.
The District adopted area-based elections in 2019 to comply with the California Voting Rights Act; division boundaries were most recently updated in 2021, based on the 2020 Census. Citizens can view an interactive map of current division boundaries.
DSRSD will hold a virtual Candidate Briefing at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 3 for community members interested in running for the DSRSD Board. The session will provide an overview of District operations, key election dates, and an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.
Additional information about filing and District election guidelines is available at the DSRSD Elections webpage and in the DSRSD policy regarding Candidate’s Statement Costs.
