Celebrate Wine, Art, Music, and Dance at Splatter, the City of Dublin's Annual End-of-Summer Multi-C

The City of Dublin will celebrate wine, art, music, and dance at its annual Splatter event, to be held on Saturday, September 13, at Emerald Glen Park (4201 Central Parkway). The multi-cultural event begins at noon and will conclude with an evening dance party concert by Boombox Heroes [https://www.boomboxheroes.com/], beginning at 6:30 p.m., on the Main Stage.

Splatter is known for its fun, family-friendly art activities, unusual art installations, artist demonstrations, live music and dance performances, a World Craft Bazaar, and a craft and culinary marketplace.  Admission to the festival is free; however, there is a charge for children’s carnival rides, games, and other activities.

Additionally, performers on the Main Stage include The Sun Kings [https://thesunkings.com/], a Beatles tribute band, performing from noon to 1:30 p.m.; and Cisco Kid [http://www.ciscokidband.com/], a War/Lowrider tribute band, performing from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.  The evening will conclude with a dance party concert featuring You Should Be Dancing [https://www.bayareabeegees.com/], a Bee Gees tribute band, at 4:00 p.m.  Before the final concert at 6:30 p.m., the Emerald High School Band will perform in front of the Main Stage. The event’s grand finale will feature a 250-light drone show, which will fill the skies above Emerald Glen Park.

There will be plenty of food and drink at the event, as the Rotary Club of Dublin will be on hand to serve local craft beer and wine.  At “The Rose Lounge - VIP Experience,” passport holders will be privy to a food-centric experience, showcasing the culturally diverse cuisine of the Tri-Valley region, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m.  The private, velvet-roped lounge will feature interactive food stations, elevated wine and beer tastings, unique roaming entertainment, a private dance floor, and a front row seat to the 250-drone light show. The menu will feature small-bite selections crafted from locally sourced ingredients that are tastefully paired with select beer and wines from Livermore Valley. Passports to “The Rose Lounge - VIP Experience” can be purchased online at  EventBrite [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/vip-rose-lounge-tickets-1564287569229?aff=ebdssbdestsearch]. A limited number of tasting passports will be available for purchase on the day of the event.

In addition to the main acts performing on the Main Stage, the festival will showcase culturally diverse music, dance, and art throughout the day on the Emerald Glen Park Amphitheater stage. Community group performances will include Riar Academy of Performing Arts; Kung Fu USA; WeDance; and Lars & In Charge, featuring Nicole Maria.

Guests will also have the opportunity to “shop around the globe” in the World Craft Bazaar, featuring a unique and diverse array of goods from different cultures.

The Side Yard Stage will feature performances from local talent and may include music, dance, poetry, and more. There will be performances by Madison Lauren, Sairaj Parva, Midnight Reruns, and the August Reed Band.  Roaming entertainers, interactive art activities, and art demonstrations will also be found throughout the festival.

The Dublin Arts Collective will again bring the "High Life" art exhibition (for exceptional high school art students) to Splatter. The exhibition will take place inside The Wave at Emerald Glen Park from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Submissions will be accepted through Saturday, September 6.  Students interested in participating can email events@dacarts.org [mailto:events@dacarts.org] for more information.

From 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., in “Sponsor Row,” there will be an opportunity for residents to weigh in on the design concepts for a new two-acre linear park in the future Dublin Centre development.  This scenic park will stretch through the neighborhood, offering a serene, yet captivating, journey.

There will be limited parking available in the south parking lot along Central Parkway, behind The Wave. There will also be street parking available on Central Parkway and Gleason Drive. Offsite event parking will be available at the East County Hall of Justice lot, located at 5151 Gleason Drive in Dublin.  A free, continuous shuttle will also run every 30 minutes from Fallon Sports Park to the festival.
