Las Positas College to Host 2026 Superhero-Themed Run Supporting Tri-Valley Nonprofits

Las Positas College (LPC) will host the 2026 LPC Run for Higher Education & Tri-Valley Non-Profits on Saturday, April 25, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, bringing together students, families, businesses, and community members for a morning of fitness, fun, and philanthropy.

Presented in partnership with the Livermore Chamber of Commerce and the Tri-Valley Non-Profit Alliance, this year’s event expands its impact by allowing participants to pledge their registration fees directly to one of a dozen Tri-Valley nonprofit organizations. Beneficiaries include the Special Olympics Northern California, Valley Humane Society, Open Heart Kitchen, CityServe, the LPC Foundation, TVNPA and other local non-profit organizations.

The event features a 5K run and a 1-mile fun walk designed for all ages and ability levels. Registration fees are intentionally affordable to maximize community participation:

  • Students (any age): $15
  • Early bird registration (general public): $30

This year’s theme, “Superheroes,” celebrates the everyday heroes serving the region through nonprofit work. All registered participants will receive an official event t-shirt and a superhero cape. Pets are welcome to join in on the fun.

In addition to the run and walk, attendees can enjoy a community marketplace before and after the race featuring local vendors, sponsors, and college programs and departments. In addition, the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce sponsored marketplace will off complimentary BBQ food, and a live DJ.

“This event reflects the heart of our mission: community, service, and opportunity,” said Dr. Foster, president of Las Positas College. “Our nonprofit partners are true superheroes in the Tri-Valley. By bringing our campus and community together, we’re not only promoting health and wellness; we’re directly investing in the organizations that strengthen our region every day.”

Organizers encourage participants to form teams, invite friends and neighbors, and support a cause meaningful to them.
