Assistant City Manager Colleen Tribby Will Become the City's Fifth City Manager in 42 Years
The Dublin City Council has announced the appointment of Assistant City Manager Colleen Tribby as the next City Manager, subject to negotiation of an employment agreement. Tribby will become City Manager in mid-October 2024, following City Manager Linda Smith's retirement.
Regarding her appointment, Tribby said, "I'm proud to call Dublin home and I'm honored that the Dublin City Council has chosen me to serve as its next leader. I'm grateful for the opportunity to guide this talented and dedicated team and help shape the future of our dynamic and diverse community."
Tribby joined the City of Dublin in April 2013 as Director of Administrative Services Department, where she was responsible for the Finance and Information Technology functions. In that role, she led the City's Fiscal Sustainability Task Force to educate the community about Dublin's financial status, oversaw the formation of Dublin's first Community Facilities District to provide financing for the infrastructure and improvements at the Boulevard project, and completed a master plan to guide citywide technological improvements. She was appointed Assistant City Manager by Smith in December 2019, and in that role, has overseen the City's Parks and Community Services, Public Works, and Finance departments, as well as the Human Resources, City Clerk, and Information Technology functions. Tribby was instrumental in Dublin's continued service delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since overseen the planning and funding of several high-profile capital projects, including citywide energy efficiency improvements, the upcoming Dublin Arts Center, the future Dublin Boulevard extension, and the future Village Parkway reconstruction.

Prior to joining the City of Dublin, Ms. Tribby worked in various public and private positions, including with the City of South San Francisco and the consulting firm Maximus. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Literature and Philosophy, graduating Cum Laude from Claremont McKenna College; a Master'
Degree in Business from the European School of Economics, Italy; and completed the Strategic Management of Public Organizations course at the U.C. Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy. While at Claremont, she was a four-year player and Captain of the CMS Women's Basketball team, and she has coached girls' basketball in the Tri-Valley area for more than 10 years.
