What: Las Positas College (LPC), in partnership with the Livermore Police Department, will host a free catalytic converter etching event for the community. Catalytic converters will be etched with a unique identification number, making them less attractive to thieves and easier to trace if stolen. This service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and no appointments are necessary. Please note that individuals must provide control of the vehicle to a technician to drive it onto the vehicle lift and may not remain in their vehicle while it is being engraved.
Who: Representatives from the Livermore Police Department and the LPC Automotive Department will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about catalytic converter theft prevention.
When: Wednesday, November 13, 2024
8 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Last vehicle in line at 3 p.m.)
Where: Onsite at LPC Campus, Automotive Department Loop Road, Building 3500
Why: This event aims to eliminate catalytic converter theft, a growing problem in the Bay Area. Vehicle owners are encouraged to use this opportunity to protect their property and deter thieves.
