Las Positas College Announces Fourth Year of Prestigious Scholarship Program

Following three successful years, Las Positas College (LPC) is excited to announce the return of its President's Scholars Program this fall. This prestigious scholarship and educational opportunity aims to attract, support, and recognize the “best of the best” from among the diverse local high school students in the community.

The program provides selected students with a range of benefits, including full tuition for up to two years, a $1,000 annual textbook stipend, complimentary parking permits each term, and personal use of a new laptop computer. In addition, scholars join a distinguished cohort of students and engage in meaningful community service and leadership activities.

“We are delighted to once again offer this opportunity to twenty exceptional and highly motivated local high school students,” said LPC President Dr. Dyrell Foster. “The President’s Scholars Program reflects our commitment to fostering academic excellence, leadership, and service among students from diverse backgrounds. Our current cohort has shown tremendous promise and continues to represent this program—and Las Positas College—with pride.”

Participants in the program serve as college ambassadors, receive personalized letters of recommendation from the president, and are honored at LPC's commencement ceremonies. Scholars are also eligible to join the Las Positas Honors Transfer Program, designed to prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions while cultivating their social and intellectual growth.

“This program has been a transformative experience for me,” said current participant Kerlyn Diaz. “It’s not just the financial support—it’s the incredible sense of community, access to academic resources, and inspiration to pursue my goals. I’m excited to see how this journey shapes my future.”
