The OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District (CLPCCD) received a globally recognized mark of excellence in continuing education and training on February 1, 2025. 

The recognition was approved by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), and the accreditation now allows for CLPCCD’s OTIEC to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. IACET CEUs are widely accepted by employers, licensing agencies, and professional organizations. Therefore, incoming and prospective students in training can take classes at the CLPCCD OTIEC, trusting the courses will be accepted by prospective/current workplaces.

The accreditation also demonstrates the CLPCCD’s OTIEC’s commitment to high-quality training that meets rigorous international standards, opening doors to international training programs and therefore allowing the OTIEC to expand its reach and impact beyond U.S.- based training. Not all safety training providers have IACET accreditation, leading the CLPCCD’s regional OSHA program to continue as a leader in high-quality safety education and workforce development.
